Using the HIOWC careers service.
Careers information
HIOWC aims to keep careers information clear and current. General information explains roles and recruitment routes; the open vacancy or campaign controls the requirements for a particular recruitment exercise.
Vacancies and campaigns
A role is open for application only when HIOWC publishes an open vacancy or campaign. An information page, archived reference or careers description does not itself open recruitment.
Applications
Submitting an application records the information for Recruitment to consider. It does not guarantee eligibility, progression, an offer or appointment.
Candidate accounts
Candidate information is linked to the signed-in identity and authoritative recruitment record. Users must not attempt to obtain another person’s recruitment information or bypass access controls.
Availability and changes
HIOWC can change or withdraw recruitment information where a campaign, vacancy or operational requirement changes. A closed or withdrawn vacancy must not continue to accept applications.
Links to other services
General policing, crime reporting, complaints and information-rights functions belong to the main HIOWC website. Separate services remain responsible for their own transactions and records.
Authoritative records
The website presentation is not a substitute for the authoritative recruitment case, decision, appointment record or employment terms held in the appropriate HIOWC system.
