Using the HIOWC careers service accessibly.
Using this website
The careers service is designed to work with keyboard navigation, visible focus, browser zoom and reflow, screen readers and common desktop and mobile layouts.
Navigation and headings
Pages use a consistent service header, primary navigation, breadcrumbs, headings and skip link. Menus and links are intended to remain usable without precise pointer control.
Forms and errors
Form controls have visible labels and required fields are identified in the form. Where an application cannot continue, the service explains the problem before a record is created.
Recruitment adjustments
Website accessibility and a reasonable adjustment to a recruitment process are different things. Tell Recruitment if you need an adjustment for an assessment, interview, event or another recruitment stage.
Zoom and mobile use
Content and core tasks are designed to reflow on smaller screens and at increased text size. Tables used in restricted administration are allowed to scroll where their data cannot sensibly be collapsed.
If you find an accessibility problem
Use Contact Recruitment for an accessibility problem affecting this careers service or a recruitment journey. Give the page or task affected and the practical difficulty you encountered.
